Catherine Zeta-Jones and Judy Greer have joined the cast of the soccer comedy “Playing the Field” at Nu Image/Millennium Films reports 24 Frames.
Gerard Butler plays a former pro soccer player who finds himself dodging romantic advances from soccer moms after he agrees to coach his son’s youth team in an attempt to bond with the boy.
Zeta-Jones plays a hot newscaster, while Greer takes on the role of a lathered-up housewife. The pair join a cast that includes Dennis Quaid as a rival soccer coach, Jessica Biel as Butler’s ex-wife, and Uma Thurman as one of the MILFs after Butler.
Gabriele Muccino directs from a script by Robbie Fox which “The Kids Are All Right” scribe Stuart Blumberg recently polished. Butler, Alan Siegel, Jonathan Mostow, Kevin Misher and Heidi Jo Markel will produce. Shooting is slated to kick off this month.
