Zendaya Joins Jackman In “Greatest Showman”

Zendaya (“K.C. Undercover,” “Spider-Man: Homecoming”) is in negotiations to join the high-profile cast of the musical biopic “The Greatest Showman” at 20th Century Fox.

Hugh Jackman has spent years developing the project and will star as P.T. Barnum, the founder of the circus that became the famous traveling Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Michelle Williams and Zac Efron are also in talks to join the film as his love interest and a playwright who becomes Barnum’s right-hand man respectively. Zendaya will play a trapeze artist Efron’s character falls for.

Michael Gracey is directing from a script by Michael Arndt (“Toy Story 3”). “Smash” duo Justin Paul and Benj Pasek will create original songs for the project.
