Robert Zemeckis has set up his next film, a currently untitled project which Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures have set aside a November 21st 2018 release date for.
Steve Carell stars in the moving true story tale, a narrative feature remake of 2010 documentary “Marwencol,” about a man who woke from a coma after a brutal assault with no memory of his life. He coped with the trauma by building a 1/6th scale model of a WWII-era Belgian village in his backyard.
The release date announcement comes on the heels of rumors that Warners was courting Zemeckis for “The Flash” movie. Zemeckis reportedly did have a meeting but it never progressed beyond that point and this cements that he won’t be involved
Zemeckis also co-wrote the script for his new film with Caroline Thompson (“Edward Scissorhands,” “The Addams Family”) and will produce with Steve Starkey and Jack Rapke.
