Netflix is adding another anime series to its service, this one coming from the creative team of “Man of Steel” and “300” director Zack Snyder and regular blockbuster storyboard artist Jay Oliva.
Oliva will serve as showrunner and writer while Snyder and his wife Debra executive produce the series which will be based on Norse mythology. Further plot specifics are under wraps.
John Derderian, Netflix’s Head of Anime says in a statement: “Zack Snyder’s innovation in visual storytelling has pushed the industry forward and established him as one of the most distinctive filmmakers of his generation. We are beyond excited to partner with him and his exceptional team to bring the iconic characters and stories of Norse mythology to life in his inimitable style.”
Snyder is currently working on the zombie heist film “Army of the Dead” also for Netflix. Oliva is also working on the Netflix original anime “Trese” which is set in Manila.
