Former “Scrubs” star Zach Braff has revealed in a Movieline interview that he’s set to star in a new indie project with a pretty impressive cast that no-one seems to have really heard about until now. Here’s his description of it:
“I’m supposed to act in a movie called The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, with Chloe Moretz and Jessica Biel, in the fall. That’s a really, really well-written script by a guy named Bill Purple.”
The IMDb profile says it’s the story of a recently widowed and introverted architect who befriends a wisecracking young girl and agrees to help her build a raft to cross the Atlantic.
It also corrects Braff’s statement – Purple is actually directing the film, not writing. The script is coming from “Natural Selection” director Robbie Pickering.
Braff most recent film is “The High Cost of Living” which hits video-on-demand services this week. He also recently wrote the play “All New People” which he’s considering turning into an independently financed feature.
