Zac Efron is in negotiations to join the adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel “The Lucky One” for Warner Bros. Pictures reports Vulture.
Based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks (“The Notebook,” “Dear John”), the story follows a Marine who returns to North Carolina having survived three tours of duty in Iraq.
He attributes his good luck to a photo he has always carried with him, a photo of a woman he’s never met. Now that he’s returned, he sets out to meet her. Daniel Radcliffe had previously been linked to the role.
Efron also recently attached himself to Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari’s “Die in a Gun Fight” about an underachieving, deadbeat son of a famous New York high-society attorney who falls for the daughter of his father’s nemesis.
