Zac Efron Turns Seventeen

Entertainment Weekly reports that tweenie spunk Zac Efron (“High School Musical,” “Hairspray”) has signed for his first leading-man role in New Line’s teen comedy/drama “Seventeen”.

Described as a “reverse ‘Big'” the story follows a 36-year-old man who, in need of a major life do-over, wakes up in the body of a studly high school senior (Efron).

Efron, who had been in talks since February, finalized negotiations on Thursday. “Hairspray” director Adam Shankman is producing, and filming could begin as early as November.
