Zac Efron is attached to star in and produce an American remake of the Swedish crime thriller “Snabba cash” for Warner Bros. Pictures says The Hollywood Reporter.
Based on the novel by Jens Lapidus, the original followed three interconnected storylines involving drugs and organized crime. Efron would play a young man who becomes the runner for a coke dealer.
Warners won the film after a fierce Hollywood bidding war and must make the property quickly or the rights revert back to the original producers. Charles Roven, Fredrik Wikstrom and Richard Suckle are producing the remake.
