YouTube Teases “Origin,” Renews “Impulse”

Youtube Teases Origin Renews Impulse

YouTube Premium has released the first footage from “Origin,” its new ten-episode UK science fiction horror series described as “Lost” meets “Event Horizon” with the latter’s director Paul W.S. Anderson helming the first two episodes.

Set across two timelines, the story is mostly set on Origin, an enormous, labyrinthian colonist transport ship built by the powerful Siren corporation headed to the distant and habitable planet Thea. Things soon start to go wrong when eleven colonists awaken to find the ship abandoned and the rest of the crew having long since abandoned the vessel.

There’s also a large amount of flashbacks to the lives of various colonists on Earth explaining how they came to make the decision to head for Thea. Tom Felton, Natalia Tena, Fraser James, Nora Arnezeder and Sen Mitsuji co-star in the series which debuts sometime this Fall.

YouTube Originals have announced that they have greenlit a ten-episode second season of the action thriller series “Impulse,” an adaptation of the “Jumper” sci-fi novel franchise, which is directed and executive produced by “Edge of Tomorrow” filmmaker Doug Liman. David Bartis and Gene Klein will return as executive producers and the new season will debut on YouTube Premium in 2019.
