“Young Pope,” “Renegades” Set Premiere Dates

HBO has announced that its high-profile drama series “The Young Pope” will debut on the network in the United States on January 15th. New episodes will air Sundays & Mondays at 9pm.

Paolo Sorrentino’s ten-episode event series stars Jude Law as the fictional first American pontiff in history – he’s a saint, a sinner, a smoker and a blue-eyed revolutionary. Diane Keaton, Silvio Orlando, Scott Shepherd, Cecile de France, Javier Camara, Ludivine Sagnier, Toni Bertorelli and James Cromwell also star.

In other release date news, EuropaCorp have announced that their Navy SEAL drama formerly titled “The Lake” has now been given the name “Renegades” and will open in cinemas on Superbowl weekend in early February.

Steve Quale (“Into the Storm”) helms the film from a script by Besson about a SEAL team in war-torn Europe who discover a treasure of gold at the bottom of a lake. J.K. Simmons and Sullivan Stapleton star.
