“Young Frankenstein” To Get A Re-Release

With the passing of comedy legend Gene Wilder still being discussed, one of his old colleagues is teaming with Fathom Events for a special event – a re-release of “Young Frankenstein”.

Fathom will run the one-night only event on October 5th which will be taking place in more than 500 cinemas nationwide and will include an introduction video broadcast live by writer/director Mel Brooks. Here’s the description from the press release:

“Seeing the black-and-white masterpiece on the big screen with an audience is a rarity in itself, but to make this screening a truly one-of-a-kind experience, writer and director Mel Brooks will introduce the film live from the 20th Century Fox Lot in Hollywood, CA”

Much of “Young Frankenstein” was filmed on the Fox lot and the intro is expected to include a tour of the lot, with stories about the movie and Wilder from Brooks. More details can be found on the official Fathom Events site.
