Weinstein Company and Dimension Films are planning yet another remake of “The Amityville Horror” reports Bloody Disgusting.
The 1979 cult horror classic was based on a true story and deals with a family moving into their apparent Long Island dream house, only to discover a murder took place in the house several years back and the place is now haunted.
Andrew Douglas directed the 2005 remake produced by Platinum Dunes that grossed over $100 million at the box office worldwide. Critical reviews were not very good for the film which has gone on to become more famous for showing off a very muscular Ryan Reynolds than actually provoking terror.
BD indicates a director already in talks to develop the project but no word on a production schedule as yet.
