“Yellowstone” Series Scores Big Ratings Bump

Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” series on the Paramount Network has become ad-supported cable’s most-watched scripted drama series premiere since “The People vs O.J. Simpson” in 2016.

Kevin Costner leads the series as the patriarch of the Dutton family which controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. In constant conflict with those it borders, the series also stars Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Dave Anabelle, Cole Hauser, Danny Huston, Josh Lucas, Gretchen Mol and Jill Hennessey.

According to Nielsen Live+3 data, the series premiere pulled in 4.8 million viewers – up by 71% from the 2.8 million that saw it in Live+Same Day on June 20th. The series is also the most-watched original series telecast in the new network’s history.
