Before it began production, Warner Bros. Pictures already had big plans for its “Harry Potter” spin-off “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” and revealed plans for a trilogy with release dates set for all three films.
Though the first film doesn’t open in cinemas for another four months, director David Yates has already opened up about the sequel and how it’s progressing. As we know the other week, author J.K. Rowling has already completed the script, and Yates tells EW:
“We’ve seen the script for Part 2, for the second movie, which takes the story in a whole new direction – as you should, you don’t want to repeat yourself. The second movie introduces new characters as she builds this part of the Harry Potter universe further. It’s a very interesting development from where we start out. The work is pouring out of her.”
The first “Fantastic Beasts” opens November 18th this year, with the sequell currently set for release on November 16th 2018.
