Ahead of the premiere of “Legion” this week and “Logan” in early March, a report has emerged over at My Entertainment World suggesting production start dates for two more upcoming works in the “X-Men” franchise.
First up, they list that the new “X-Men” series being develop for FOX is going by the working title of “Heaven” and the pilot, under the helm of Bryan Singer, is slated to begin filming March 13th in Dallas. Matt Nix serves as showrunner on the series which, should it go ahead, will likely debut in the Fall.
The same site also reports that filming is slated to begin June 15th on the next proper “X-Men” film in Montreal. Is this Josh Boone’s “New Mutants” film which is shooting in Montreal but at last report was to begin filming in May?
Not according to the site which claims this is the project which was previously titled “X-Men: Supernova” and which Omega Underground now says is going by the working title “Teen Spirit” which would seem to confirm comments from producer Simon Kinberg last year of an early 1990s period setting.
Will it adapt the Dark Phoenix saga? Fox has yet to make any official announcement regarding future “X-Men” films at this time so consider all the film talk still a rumor for now.
