Director Bryan Singer is set to return to Montreal for filming on “X-Men: Apocalypse” at Mel’s Studios starting in April next year.
The project will open their production office at the studio next month, with set construction slated to begin in December.
The 1980s-set piece will primarily focus on the younger mutants from “X-Men: First Class” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” though some of the original cast members may also return.
Me’s Studios is the same place Singer shot this year’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” a production that included the construction of over 40 sets, and utilised 40 separate locations throughout the city – in the process generating over $100 million for the local Montreal economy.
The film itself is slated to open May 27th 2016.
