Wright, Witherspoon Plan A “First Women” Series

Pacific Standard and Spotlight is teaming with Anonymous Content to produce a TV series based on Kate Andersen Brower’s bestseller “First Women” which deals with America’s First Ladies from Jackie Kennedy through to Michelle Obama.

Brower is a former White House reporter for Bloomberg News, a former CBS News staffer and producer for Fox News. The book is said to be an “intimate, news-making look at the true modern power brokers at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue: the First Ladies.”

Robin Wright, who portrays a First Lady herself on Netflix’s “House of Cards,” will direct the pilot and executive produce the series with Reese Witherspoon, Michael Sugar and Bruna Papandrea also serving as executive producer.
