Jeffrey Wright, Alexander Skarsgard, James Badge Dale, Riley Keough and James Bloor are all set to star in “Green Room” director Jeremy Saulnier’s new adventure thriller “Hold the Dark” for Netflix.
Based on the book by William Giraldi, the story is set in a remote Alaskan wilderness in which wolves have taken and killed children and so a wolf expert biologist (Wright) is called in to investigate.
The biologist soon finds himself caught in between a secret-harboring mother (Keough), who disappears, and her husband (Skarsgard) who goes on a maniacal spree when he returns from Iraq and learns of his son’s death.
Dale plays a detective who wants to catch the husband, while Bloor is a creepy drifter. Macon Blair wrote the script while Russell Ackerman, John Schoenfelder, Eva Maria Daniels, Anish Savjani and Neil Kopp are producing. Filming is slated to begin in Alberta in March.
