Disney Animation has announced that a sequel to its 2012 video game-themed animated comedy-adventure “Wreck-It Ralph” is in the works with a March 9th 2018 release being targeted.
John C. Reilly, Jane Lynch and Sarah Silverman lent their voices to the original about a video game villain who wants to be a hero and sets out to fulfil his dream. His quest brings havoc to the whole arcade where he lives.
The film nabbed an Oscar nomination and $471 million worldwide at the box-office, helping cement a renaissance of new films at Walt Disney Animation Studios which continued on with 2013’s “Frozen,” 2014’s “Big Hero 6” and this year’s “Zootopia”.
