Work Begins On Last “Hunger Games” Script

Lionsgate has exercised its option on “Game Change” scribe Danny Strong to pen the script for the second part of the studio’s two-part film adaptation of “Mockingjay,” the final novel in “The Hunger Games” trilogy.

Strong has already penned the script for the first part, but his deal for the second was contingent on the studio’s approval of his draft for the first.

It sounds like they like it as he’s now commencing work on the new script.

Francis Lawrence recently shot the first sequel “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” which is due for release at the end of the year.
