Woodley, Dern, Kravitz Return For More “Lies”

Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Zoe Kravitz are all set to reprise their roles in the upcoming second season of HBO’s “Big Little Lies”.

Woodley, Dern, and Kravitz had to sign new deals to return to the show since the first season was meant to be a closed-ended limited run. Each has reportedly scored a sizeable raise as well.

Andrea Arnold takes over the helm of the new episodes which also star Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Meryl Streep, the latter playing the mother of Alexander Skarsgard’s character who arrives in Monterey concerned for the well-being of her grandchildren following the events of the first season.

Writer and showrunner David E. Kelley will write all seven episodes, just like the first season, which again are partially based on the book by Liane Moriarty. He will executive produce alongside Kidman, Witherspoon, Per Saari, Bruna Papandrea, Jean-Marc Vallee, Nathan Ross.
