Wood, Kebbell Join Redford’s “Conspirator”

Evan Rachel Wood and Toby Kebbell have joined the cast of Robert Redford’s period drama “The Conspirator” says The Playlist.

Based on true events following the assassination of President Lincoln, the story follows Mary Surratt (Robin Wright Penn), the only woman among a group charged with conspiring to kill the president.

James McAvoy plays Frederick Aiken, an idealistic young war hero who reluctantly defends Surratt and in the process comes to believe she is innocent.

Evan Rachel Wood is said to be playing Wright Penn’s daughter Anna Surratt, while Kebbell has been cast as the assassin John Wilkes Booth. Justin Long was cast earlier this week as Aiken’s best friend, a one-armed Civil War veteran.

Filming is currently underway in Savannah, Georgia.
