Woman, “Diane,” “Hick” Picked Up

CBS Films has won a heated bidding war for the U.S. distribution rights to the Daniel Radcliffe-led Victorian gothic horror thriller “The Woman in Black”.

Radcliffe plays a lawyer who travels to a remote English village where he uncovers terrible secrets of a deceased client’s house along with a ghost that haunts it. CBS has yet to set a date, though a late 2011 release is expected.

Meanwhile, Magnolia Pictures has acquired worldwide rights to “Jack and Diane”, a twisted tale of young love starring Juno Temple, Riley Keough and pop icon Kylie Minogue.

The Bradley Rust Gray-directed project is currently in post-production, so no word as yet on a release date.

Finally, Content Film has scored the international sales rights for Derick Martini’s “Hick”.

Chloe Moretz starts in the story of a young girl’s life on the road and is based on the book by Andreas Portes.
