With the imminent launch of Netflix in Australia, competing SVOD services are trying to make headlines in order to try and take some attention away from the elephant about to enter the room. One of those competitors is the streaming service Stan.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Stan is currently considering a six-episode television spin-off to the hit Australian horror film series “Wolf Creek”.
The new adaptation would be a collaboration between writer and director Greg McLean who created the first two films, and the writer/producers of long-running crime series “Underbelly”.
Events in the show would be set after those in last year’s “Wolf Creek 2”, and the tone would be less horror and more “suspense thriller”-like according to McLean. If the project is approved, the plan is to produce them this year.
