Paramount Pictures has locked down a September 18th 2020 release date for their Tom Clancy novel adaptation “Without Remorse”.
Michael B. Jordan is set to star as John Clark, a former Navy SEAL and director of an elite counterterrorism unit known as Rainbow Six. Willem Dafoe played him in “Clear and Present Danger” while Liev Schrieber took on the role in “The Sum of All Fears”.
The 1971-set book has Clark taking charge in two operations – an official military rescue of POWs, and a personal vendetta against the drug runners who raped, tortured and killed the first woman he became involved with since his wife’s death. The studio has made several attempts to adapt the property but the bleak and violent storyline has proven difficult.
“Sicario: Day of the Soldado” writer Taylor Sheridan and director Stefano Sollima re-team on the project which Jordan, Akiva Goldsman, Josh Appelbaum and Corin Nemec will produce.
