Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig and Christopher Walken are all said to be circling Errol Morris’ “Freezing People Is Easy” at Film Rites reports Deadline.
Inspired by the memoir “We Froze The First Man” and an episode of “This American Life”, the true story tale follows a 1960s Los Angeles television repairman (Paul Rudd) who tried to pioneer the field of cryogenics by freezing humans – something far more difficult than he imagined.
Zach Helm (“Stranger Than Fiction”) penned the script while Steve Zaillian, Garrett Basch, Ira Glass and Alissa Shipp are producing. Everyone is said to be pretty much locked except Wiig whose SNL commitments and other offers on the table mean she may not be able to fit it into her schedule. Shooting will kick off sometime mid-year.
