Wilson, Poots, Spall Join Crowe’s “Roadies”

Luke Wilson, Imogen Poots, Rafe Spall, Keisha Castle-Hughes and Peter Cambor are set to star in the Cameron Crowe-produced rock comedy series “Roadies” for Showtime.

The story follows the day-to-day life of a successful rock tour as seen through the crew members who get the show on the road.

Wilson is road-weary, sleep-deprived tour manager Bill. Poots plays the first-rate electrical tech with questionable people skills. Castle-Hughes will play the band’s outspoken and passionate sound mixer Donna. Cambor is the skuzzy anglophile guitar tech. Spall is a successful British financial adviser who oversees the crew’s budget.

Crowe is writing and directing the pilot with Winnie Holzman (“My So-Called Life”), Bryan Burk and J.J. Abrams on board to executive produce. Holzman will serve as showrunner.
