Marvel is rumored to be looking for someone to play Magus in the upcoming first part of their two-part “Avengers: Infinity War” saga. Spoiler TV posted the report, citing a rather rough looking acting audition site which includes the listing. Said listing reads as follows:
“Auditions are now getting underway for the Marvel Studios feature film ‘Avengers: Infinity War – Part I’ lead and supporting roles. The auditions for new lead and supporting roles will be taking place in Los Angeles, CA.
The film is the first in a two-part sequel in which Thanos plays a major role, along with the Magus. Adam Warlock’s bad side, the Magus, separates from his body and assembles the Infinity Gauntlet.
Magus creates doppelgangers of Earth’s heroes as part of his plan to recreate a universe of evil. “Avengers: Infinity War – Part I” will be shot entirely on the IMAX/ARRI 2D digital camera.”
The report sounds dubious as the two-part project isn’t scheduled to shoot for some time and casting this far out sounds like a remote chance at best. Yet filming is slated to begin shortly on both “Doctor Strange” and soon after the “Guardians of the Galaxy” sequel. Could the ‘good side’ of Magus, Adam Warlock, be the major new character that James Gunn has referred to as being a part of the upcoming “Guardians of the Galaxy 2”? If it is Adam Warlock, will we see him transforming into Magus ahead of ‘Infinity War’?
This remains a very much unconfirmed rumour for now. Do you think the Magus character suits this franchise? Have your say in the comments below.
