Following its revival for a digital comedy short tied in with the election, Universal TV is reportedly now mulling the possibility of bringing back sitcom “Will and Grace” a decade after it went off the air.
Deadline reports that no deals in place and there’s a lot of hurdles to clear first, but if it were to go forward a one-off ten-episode installment would be produced.
Though NBC is a possibility to air the episodes, a streaming giant like Netflix is considered more likely – especially as the original series has yet to lock down a streaming deal which makes that back catalogue a tempting bonus.
Created by David Kohan and Max Mutchnick, the series ran for 194 episodes and starred Eric McCormack as gay lawyer Will and Debra Messing as straight designer Grace who had been best friends. Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally also co-starred.
