Will Colin Firth Return For “Kingsman” Sequel?

With over $400 million worldwide in revenue, it’s no surprise that FOX is moving fast on a sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s R-rated spy spoof “Kingsman: The Secret Service”.

With the film slated to hit disc on June 9th, the film’s young leading man Taron Egerton has done a bit of press for the home video release and was asked about the sequel.

Specifically there’s a big question over the return of Colin Firth’s mentor spy character Harry Hart who was shot in the head during the film. With the film a highly stylised and over the top affair, a character coming back from the dead in some way isn’t that out of the ordinary. Could Harry come back? Egerton tells Cinema Blend:

“Well, I mean, I think he’s pretty dead. Shot in the head. But, I mean, I still have dreams that… I always thought it would be lovely to see Eggsy and Harry reunited. I have this, you know, I have my own fantasies about that. But I haven’t heard anything to suggest that he will be coming back. Unless they build a robot version of him, or he has an evil twin or something.”

Vaughn has previously said he has “got a feeling we’ll figure out a way for having Colin back,” especially if the film does well. The question then becomes in what capacity will he return.
