Aside from the two-decade gap between “Days of Heaven” and “The Thin Red Line”, Terrence Malick has generally left a gap of 5-7 years between films. After the release of “The Tree of Life” this past weekend however, that schedule is about to be ramped up.
As we already know, Malick has already finished shooting his next film – a contemporary romance drama with Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams and Olga Kurylenko. A few minutes have been screened for foreign buyers, while two rounds of reshoots have already been completed.
More surprising though is that according to The L.A. Times, Malick has reportedly told members of his production team to keep the summer and fall of this year open for the possible shoot of yet another film.
While it’s unlikely we’ll see this second Malick film this year, could this news mean we’ll be getting new films from the famed auteur in 2012 and 2013?
