White Chicks 2 Could Be A Reality

Crowdsourcing and social media has become a powerful force for good in this world. At times though, it can be used as a delivery system to spread or even incite great evil.

You can debate what happened this week on that front following an Instagram post by Marlon Wayans the other day basically asked for a bunch of votes to gauge if there was any interest in a sequel to the 2004 comedy “White Chicks”. The post is as follows:

Show of hands who wants to see the sequel to this? 300,000 likes and I may make this our next movie

Wayans has been trying to generate interest in a follow-up for some time, and here sought 300,000 likes to see if there was interest if he and brother Shawn Wayans were to make this their next film.

So far, the photo has racked up 446,000 likes so it seems we may get it after all – assuming there’s studio interest in funding it. The previous film cost a not cheap $37 million, but generated $113 million in box-office worldwide and has since become a frequently repeated film on cable.
