Whedon Slams ‘Sexist’ “Jurassic World” Clip

Yesterday came the first clip from Universal’s “Jurassic World” and… it was an odd choice. Instead of picking a scene with dinosaurs, the clip was a 90-second piece showcasing some banter between Bryce Dallas Howard’s frosty business type and Chris Pratt’s charming and roguish gamekeeper..

Not everyone was a fan of the clip, including “The Avengers” series director Joss Whedon who tweeted out a brief but cutting response:

Was the problem with the clip that it was sexist? Or is it that it relied on dated and all too familiar character tropes? Ether way, Universal and director Colin Trevorrow have not responded to the comment. “Jurassic World” opens on June 12th.
