In a recent interview, writer/director David Ondaatje revealed to Ion Cinema that Shane West, Simon Baker, have joined the cast of his “The Lodger” film adaptation for Sony’s Stage 6 Films.
Split between two narratives, the first story involves a detective named Chandler Manning (Alfred Molina) who is engaged in a complex cat-and-mouse game with a maniacal killer who begins emulating the 100-year old murders of Jack The Ripper along Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood. West will play the role of Manning’s rookie partner, Street Wilkenson.
The other storyline features Hope Davis playing a woman named Ellen Bunting who has just rented her guesthouse in West Hollywood to handsome stranger Malcolm Sleight (Baker) who appears on her doorstep one day.
Philip Baker Hall will play Captain Smith, Rebecca Pidgeon is Dr. Jessica Westmin, Rachael Leigh Cook and Mel Harris also star. The production is currently filming in Los Angeles.
