Australian actress Samara Weaving (“Ready or Not”) will play the role of counter-intelligence officer Scarlett in the “G.I. Joe” spinoff “Snake Eyes” at Paramount Pictures, Skydance, All Spark and MGM.
The flame-haired soldier was known to carry a crossbow as her choice of weapon and was previously played on screen in 2009’s “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” by Rachel Nichols. Takehiro Hira has also joined the cast today in an undisclosed role.
Henry Golding stars as the titular ninja soldier as he seeks revenge for his father’s death by joining a ninja clan and in the process finding acceptance. Also onboard are Andre Koji as Storm Shadow, Iko Uwais as Hard Master and Ursula Corbero as The Baroness.
Lorenzo di Bonaventure and Brian Goldner are producing while Robert Schwentke directs off a screenplay by Evan Spiliotopoulos.
