WB’s Superhero Cinematic Plans Revealed?

Nikki Finke has released a rumored lineup of DC Comics-based feature films at her just launched website NikkiFinke.com. Finke reports that Warners will use this year’s Comic Con to officially announce their superhero slate through 2018.

That slate kicks off with “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” on May 6th 2016, a “Shazam” film for July 2016 and the Joseph Gordon-Levitt produced “Sandman” film set for December 2016.

Then comes Zack Snyder’s “Justice League” film in May 2017, a standalone “Wonder Woman” film in July 2017, a Flash and Green Lantern team-up film for Christmas 2017, and finally a direct “Man of Steel” sequel in May 2018.

The report goes on to say the superheroes that will debut in ‘Dawn’ include the previously announced Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Cyborg, along with the a new Flash and Green Lantern. She adds that a new Aquaman will debut in Justice League.

All of this remains speculative for now, Finke says a lot of it is still in flux. In more concrete news, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Mattel have officially announced that they have extended their strategic alliance, which includes toys for DC Comics, movies and TV shows.

The deal covers such titles as “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” “Justice League,” “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Gotham,” “Constantine” and “iZombie.”
