FOX’s M. Night Shyamalan produced sci-fi series “Wayward Pines” may not be as dead as suspected. Fox entertainment president David Madden made it clear at the Television Critics Association press tour this week that the show was not cancelled, but won’t be on this year either:
“Wayward is not canceled, but it will not be on this summer. Wayward didn’t come together quickly enough for us to have it this summer; there have been discussions about casting. We’re still talking about it, it’s possible you’ll see Wayward at some point back on Fox. But we are focusing a little bit more heavily on unscripted this summer.”
Also this week comes word about an old show on FOX that may be getting a reboot. Queen Latifah appeared on Watch What Happens Live this week and said a revival of the Brooklyn-set 90s-era comedy series “Living Single,” which launched her career, is in early development.
Latifah says: “We’re actually working on it. It’s not there yet but hopefully we can get it happening… we’re still figuring that all out.” As the project is in such early stages there’s no word on a potential air date.
