Washington Returns As “Equalizer” In 2017

Sony Pictures has officially set a September 29th 2017 release date for the follow up to director Antoine Fuqua’s 2014 adaptation of the 1980s television series “The Equalizer”.

In the first film Washington played Robert McCall, a former black ops man who has faked his death to live a quiet life in Boston. When he comes out of his self-imposed retirement to rescue a young girl, he finds himself face to face with ultra-violent Russian gangsters.

Washington is thought to be returning for the follow-up (his first sequel), but no director or additional cast has yet been confirmed. Washington is will shortly re-team with Fuqua on “The Magnificent Seven” remake.
