Warner Bros. Pictures has scored the film rights to Lezley McSpadden’s memoir “Tell the Truth & Shame the Devil” according to The Tracking Board.
McSpadden was the mother of eighteen-year-old African-American teenager Michael Brown, who was killed by police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri back in 2014.
The incident sparked a national debate about racial tension, especially after witnesses stated that Michael Brown had his hands up in surrender.
A writer of color is now being sought to adapt the script for this true story drama which is said to have the same type of tone and theme as “Crash”.
No producers are attached at this point.
