Alcon has picked up the North American distribution rights to the horror flick “Chernobyl Diaries” and will release it through Warner Bros. Pictures this Memorial Day weekend says Heat Vision.
The story is set in the Ukranian city of Prypiat which once housed the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor. A group of friends vacationing in Europe find themselves stranded in the abandoned city only to discover that they are not alone.
Brad Parker, a visual effect supervisor, makes his debut as director on the movie. “Paranormal Activity” director Oren Peli wrote the story and produced with Brian Witten.
