Warners Plans Young Al Capone Biopic

Warner Bros. Pictures has picked up “Cicero”, a script by Walon Green (“The Wild Bunch,” “Eraser,” “Robocop 2”) about Al Capone’s origins reports Variety.

The story details Capone’s rise from the slums of Brooklyn to the head of the criminal underworld in Chicago during Prohibition. In order to operate outside Chicago city limits, Capone set up headquarters in the suburban city of Cicero and took over its government in 1924.

John Lesher is set to produce the project which is being described as a throwback to 30’s shoot-’em-up gangster films like “Little Caesar” and “Angels With Dirty Faces”.
