Mattel and Warner Bros. Pictures have unveiled plans to develop and produce a live-action film based on the toy racing car brand “Hot Wheels”.
“Hot Wheels” debuted in 1968 and has sold more than six billion individual cars during its fifty-year history.
Attempts have been going on to turn this into a film for nearly two decades at different studios with directors like McG attached back in 2003 while Justin Lin was up for the gig in 2016 when it was at Universal.
This would mark the second project Mattel and Warners following the upcoming “Barbie” movie to star and be produced by Margot Robbie. That film was rumored to be directed by Patty Jenkins but she recently shot down those reports.
