Warner Bros. Pictures has pushed back the Gerard Butler action drama “Geostorm” by three months. Originally slated for October next year, it will now open January 13th 2017.
“Independence Day” producer Dean Devlin makes his feature directorial debut on the project in which a satellite designer (Butler) tries to prevent disaster when the world’s climate control satellites fail to function.
Devlin also penned the script with the film originally in development at Skydance Productions until Warners picked it up. Devlin, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan will produce.
