Warner Bros. Pictures Acquires Machinima

Warner Bros. Pictures has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire full control of gamer and fandom-centric digital programming company Machinima.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the value is reportedly said to be at slightly under $100 million according to sources familiar with the deal. Machinima will operate as a wholly-owned part of Warner Bros. Digital Networks group.

Warner Brothers says they see this as an opportunity to forge closer synergies between Machinima and its DC Entertainment properties, along with its portfolio of video games.
