Another teaser for a teaser this week, this time a fifteen-second first glimpse at Duncan Jones’ highly-anticipated film adaptation of the “Warcraft” gaming franchise. Some saw a leaked version of the Comic Con clip a few months back, but that was a bootleg which was also not the greatest quality.
This however is proper HD and, though fifteen seconds, gives a brief idea of what to expect with some stunningly realised footage. The full version of this trailer is slated to go online on Friday, and a new synopsis is out today which you can read below:
“The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home. So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.
Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Ben Schnetzer, Rob Kazinsky and Daniel Wu star in the film which opens June 10th. The clip comes as “Warcraft” game creator Blizzard has purchased “Candy Crush” gamemaker King Digital for $5.9 billion – signalling the company’s intent to move into the mobile gaming arena.
