Though filming wrapped a year ago, Duncan Jones’ “Warcraft” has had to put up with an extended post-production period due to all the intensive visual effects required to bring the “World of Warcraft” game franchise to the big screen.
Today, the first official stills have now been revealed showing off “True Blood” actor Robert Kazinsky as orc leader Orgrim Doomhammer, a CG creation of Industrial Light and Magic blended with Kazinsky’s mo-cap performance. Speaking about the character with Wired magazine, Jones says:
“We were looking for someone who would be able to perform the gruffness, the humor, and the toughness of this character. We’ve gone beyond the point where these are just creatures in movies. We now have the technology and the ability to make new characters entirely.”
Ben Foster, Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Toby Kebbell, Dominic Cooper, Daniel Wu and Clancy Brown also star in the film which opens June 10th 2016.
