TWC/Dimension has delayed its Robert De Niro comedy “The War With Grandpa” by six months – now opting to open it on October 21st. The delay is understandable as director Tim Hill revealed last month during a presentation at the American Film Market that filming wouldn’t even begin on the movie until February in Toronto.
Based on Robert Kimmel Smith’s 184 kids book, the story focuses on a boy being forced to move out of his room when his recently widowed grandfather moves in. With the help of his friends, the boy devises outrageous pranks to make his grandfather surrender the room – but he turns out to be tougher than expected.
Christopher Walken and Eugene Levy also star while Phillip Glasser, Marvin Peart and Rosa Morris Peart are producing. The company has also locked down an August 25th release for the horror film “Polaroid”.
