Netflix, “The Conjuring” director James Wan and “Stranger Things” production company 21 Laps are teaming for the coming-of-age slasher movie “There’s Someone Inside Your House” based on Stephanie Perkins’ novel.
The story follows a young girl, Makani, whose relatively recent Nebraska high school friends inexplicably begin to die in a series of gruesome murders. The tone is said to blend a John Hughes coming-of-age tale with an 80s/90s teen slasher film.
Netflix reportedly beat out multiple studios to land the pitch with Dan Cohen and Michael Clear also slated to produce. Wan will produce and is NOT slated to direct, while Henry Gayden (“Shazam”) is penning the script.
