Walking Dead’s Cudlitz On Key Death’s Impact

There are eleven potential victims for Negan to have killed at the end of the last season of AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” with a few standout candidates. While we won’t know who it is until the season premiere in October, one of the potential victims may have just revealed their fate in a new interview.

One of those serious potential candidates has been Michael Cudlitz’s Abraham and his signature handlebar mustache. In the comics, the character met his maker when he scored an arrow through the eye. On screen, it was Denise who met that fate a few episodes before the finale – as a result, Abraham is past his ‘due by’ date in the comics and seemed a likely possibility of being killed by Negan.

However, in a new interview with PopSugar, Cudlitz says the impact of Denise’s death will have ramifications down the line for some time yet and he’ll be sharing screen time with Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan:

“Her death spurs on a whole bunch of other stuff, and then the audience knows that Abraham will continue for a while now. Now we get to see what a world with Negan and Abraham both in it will be like. That’s something we don’t see in the graphic novels. So a lot of cool stuff happens. For me, knowing that his potential death had come and gone, it was a moment to go, ‘Oh cool, they really aren’t going to stick with what the graphic novel does.’ As a fan of both the novel and the show, it was cool.”

Cudlitz could be trying to deliberately throw people off the scent though. We’ll find out when the series returns in October.
