AMC Studios has closed a deal with Amazon Prime Video that will see the upcoming third series in its “The Walking Dead” franchise make its way around much of the world outside North America via the global streaming giant.
Amazon Prime Video will air the still-untitled ten-part series, in Europe (excluding Spain and Portugal), the Middle East and Africa. AMC Networks International meanwhile will air in Spain and Portugal and Latin America.
The third installment of the franchise will air in Spring 2020 and will feature two young female protagonists and focus on the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it. The story takes place ten years after the start of the apocalypse and begins in the U.S. midwest.
